Curriculum

Notre Dame Academy is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Pre-K through 5th Grade. It uses the framework of this program for the curriculum. This program directs the manner in which classes are taught by encouraging hands-on learning and by teaching concepts across different subjects. (i.e., learning about aging in science, English, math etc.) On the content level, the Middle School has a full set of high school preparatory courses. Here is an overview of Notre Dame Academy's key programs:

International Program
Notre Dame Academy breaks down its international program into two groups: age 3 through kindergarten and pre-first through fifth grade. The Middle School students in sixth grade through eighth grade follow a Junior High program, which includes high school preparatory courses. All the programs are international, transdisciplinary programs designed to foster the development of the whole child.

Fit for Life
This program includes a daily physical education curriculum designed to optimize personal fitness for all ages.

Service Learning
This curriculum element is a year-long program where students learn social responsibility by participating in a major service project each year.

Smart Classrooms
Almost every classroom is equipped with an interactive white board and LCD projector that encourage interactive learning and bring the world into the classroom.
