Dear Parents and Guardians:
Reading is an essential skill in school and in life. Fluent readers become more fluent writers. Plus, these readers encounter different worlds, people, and ideas. As such, the teachers at Notre Dame Academy encourage students to read over the summer.
Teachers in grades 3-8 have prepared lists of required reading for their incoming students (see below to find the appropriate list for your student). The teachers took great care to select quality books that are sure to be enjoyable for the students reading them. Additionally, teachers may have given suggestions about how best to take notes/ prepare for in-class activities. All parents and students should read the summer reading requirements in the links provided.
Although we do not provide specific summer reading lists for Pre-K through 2nd grades, we do encourage those younger students to read as well. Take advantage of your local library and its fantastic stock of books.
Should you have any questions regarding the summer reading lists, please feel free to contact me at tromero@ndacademy.org.
God bless,
Ms. Tai Romero
