Under an exciting new state law, you can redirect a portion of your Georgia income tax payments to provide scholarship assistance to Kindergarten and public school children who wish to attend our school.
To enable our supporters to take advantage of this program, we are working with the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, a state-approved student scholarship organization. If you owe Georgia taxes, you can receive a tax credit against your Georgia income tax liability for amounts donated to GOAL. For married couples filing a joint return, the maximum tax credit-eligible contribution is $2,500 maximum is $1000 for those filing single.
In order to ensure approval of your intended contribution in time to secure a 2009 Georgia income tax credit, you must take the first step listed below and file the Form IT-QEE-TP1 by November 1, 2009.
Frequently asked questions:
How does this work?
1. Complete the two-page Form IT-QEE-TP1 and deliver it to the Notre Dame Advancement Office for filing with the Georgia Department of Revenue (“DOR”). Within 30 days, the DOR will send you the approved form. No contribution is required until you are approved to make your contribution. You can also decide not to make the contribution.
2. Upon receipt of your approved form from the DOR, deliver to the Notre Dame Advancement Office a copy of the form and your contribution to “Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program” with Notre Dame Academy listed in the memo section of the check. NOTE: Credit cards may not be used. Notre Dame will send the contribution and approved form to GOAL.
3. Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program will send you a Form IT-QEE-SSO1 acknowledging your contribution.
4. When you complete your Georgia income tax return, attach a copy of Form IT-QEE-SSO1 that acknowledges your contribution to your return.
Do you own or run a business?
Corporations can receive a tax credit for amounts contributed to the GOAL Scholarship Program up to 75 percentof their Georgia income tax liability. Presently, this taxcredit is only fully available to "C" corporations.
How are the funds used?
The GOAL Scholarship Program uses the NDA designated contributions to fund K-12 scholarships for public school children who desire to attend NDA. The scholarships are also available for qualified students who are eligible to enter kindergarten. Each year, NDA uses its regular admission and financial aid processes to determine those students who are eligible to receive GOAL scholarships and submits the scholarship candidates and amounts to GOAL for final approval.
