ADMINISTRATION
Debra Orr, Head of School
Ms. Orr has worked in education for more than 20 years. She started in the public school system in DeKalb County and later moved to St. Pius X, where she worked as a teacher and had some part-time administrative duties. Later Ms. Orr was called to help open Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, and then she was recruited to launch Pinecrest Academy’s High School. Ms. Orr has a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist from Georgia State and a Master's Add-on for Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia.
Julia Derucki, Principal, Elementary School
Mrs. Derucki has spent 20 years teaching and working exclusively in Catholic schools in Indiana, Florida, and Georgia. She has taught 2nd-8th Grade and served in administrative positions, including Dean of Students at a K-8th inner-city school and Dean of Academics. She piloted the NDA 8th Grade Annual “International Trip” and has traveled with the students to Japan, Italy, and Ireland, as well as founded a literacy program at NDA that has generated a further love of reading in elementary and middle school students. Mrs. Derucki is a member of the National Catholic Educa-tion Association, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and was nominated by parents for both the Atlanta Journal and Constitution (AJC) Teacher of the Year in 2002 and Disney's Teacher of the Year in 2003. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ball State University, graduate courses in Educational Leadership from Indiana University-Purdue University Institute, and a Master’s in Education from Spring Hill College.
John Findley, Principal, Middle School
Mr. Findley has served over 35 years in public and private education in the Atlanta area. The first eleven years of his career was spent in DeKalb County schools; teaching history and other social studies courses while coaching football and track. Mr. Findley’s private school experience began at Marist School. While at Marist Mr. Findley taught history, coached football and basketball, and was the Dean of Student Discipline. After a brief stint in Manhattan, New York at York Preparatory School; Mr. Findley worked at Wesleyan School as their first History Department Chairman and at Pinecrest Academy as Academic Coordinator. Mr. Findley is a member of the National Council for Social Studies and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and History and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Georgia State University.
Gary Hegarty, Director of Finance
Prior to joining Notre Dame Academy, Mr. Hegarty spent 20 years as a Management/Financial Consultant, interspersed with Company Directorships in Europe. His past experience includes Audit/Accounting/Consulting experience in Ireland and the USA with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has a 1st class honours Degree in Commerce from UCC and a Post Graduate Degree in Finance from UCD in Ireland. Mr. Hegarty is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He was also one of the founding Executive Committee Members of Ireland Chamber of Commerce USA [ICCUSA] for the southeast United States, based in Atlanta.
Molly Hole, Interim Principal, Early Years Campus
Ms. Hole comes to us from Syllables Reading Center as the Associate Director who provided reading instruction services and training to teachers, parents, and students. Previously, Ms. Hole taught students in Pre-K through 8th grade with the majority of her teaching experience in third and fourth grades. While working at Sarah Smith Elementary School, she played an integral role in the authorization process for the school’s International Baccalaureate Program. Ms. Hole has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University.
Anne Mancini, Advancement Director
Mrs. Mancini has over 20 years of corporate management experience in the areas of corporate giving programs, legal and human resources with Burroughs Corporation, Unisys Corporation, Colgate-Palmolive Company and The Coca-Cola Company. Most recently, she was the Development Director at Pinecrest Academy and served on the management team for three years responsible for annual giving programs, a capital campaign, community and public relations, communications and special events. Mrs. Mancini has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Assistance from Madonna University.
John Meurer, Director of Facilities
Mr. John Meurer is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years experience in corporate facilities management. He previously was employed by Rare Hospitality and Ruby Tuesdays. Mr. Meurer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville. He is a retired Navy Captain.
