e believe that an institution is only as strong as its families, which is why we developed our version of the traditional "PTA" via the School and Family Organization, or "SFO." We depend on the hard work and dedication of our countless parent volunteers and committee chairs to execute the many events and programs throughout the academic year!

SFO Committee Descriptions
Adoration - Help to promote and recruit volunteers to attend Adoration. We need a new person to shepherd this committee. Please contact Mrs. Julie Pack for details.
Bingo – Coordinate the annual Family Bingo night in the winter, procure volunteers and prizes, and coordinate set-up and breakdown. We are in need of a new Bingo Chair this year. Please Contact Mr. Bamford if you can help with this fun and easy event in November.
Book Fair – Assist Media Specialist in organizing the Book Fair in December. Contact Mrs. Smolynsky if you would like to help.
Campus Beautification – Assist in decorating the front entrances of the campuses (2-3 times a year) and decorating Christmas trees the first week of December.
Catholic Schools Week – Assist the Religious Education Coordinator with planning fun activities at both campuses.
Lower School Student Dance – Help to plan the February dance for 1st - 5th grade students including promotions, staff volunteers, and other venue assignments. This can be a Co-Chair event.
Family Picnic – Assist Mrs. Kim Hope and Mr. Bamford in coordinating communications, registration, games, set-up, and breakdown. This year the family picnic is at the George Student Center.
– The Fun Run is the only student fundraiser of the year where students raise money based on the number of laps run to support the academic programs. Coordinate advertising, promotions, photography, venue assignments, and set-up, and breakdown. This is usually a team of 2-3 people.
Gala – Help Mr. Bamford Organize ND Academy’s signature volunteer fundraising school event. It includes silent and live auction procurement, advertising, promotion, photography, decorations committee, event set-up and breakdown, and venue assignments. You may pick whichever task suits you.
Lunchroom – Help with serving food and doing clean-up during the lunch periods in our new cafeteria. This is a fun hour or so that you and your child will remember.
Middle School Dance – Plan the spring dance for 6th - 8th grade students including promotion, staff volunteer, and other venue assignments.
New Family Ambassadors – Help connect new families with current ND Academy families to become integrated into the school community. Reach out, arrange play dates with common age kids, etc.
Parents’ Prayer Group/Prayer Chain – Plan and coordinate routine prayer group sessions with mothers. Distribute prayer requests to the ND Academy Community.
Rebates/Cartridges/Box Tops – Help promote various sponsorship programs with parents and students. i.e. Box Tops for Education, recycling toner cartridges, promoting Kroger Cards, Publix, Target, etc. Last year, ND Academy raised around $6,000.00 on these easy, fun programs.
Room Parent Coordinator – Assign room mothers to each homeroom, help Service Learning Coordinator with classroom service projects, and coordinate room parent communications.
Teacher Appreciation – Coordinate a luncheon and special recognition for the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week held during the first week in May. This is usually a team of several people.
Used Uniform Sale – Assist in the set-up and sales of used uniforms in January.
Visual and Performing Arts Committee -- Assist Mrs. Megan Letz, Mrs. Amy LoCurto, and Mr. Bob Tolton in organizing volunteers to assist with Bands, Chorus, Music Ministry, Theater Class, USO Show, Recitals & Art Shows.
