Irish Swimming Update
Congratulations to our swimmers who continue to find success in the pool! In their last meet, the team placed in the top 4 for varsity and the middle school placed 4th for girls and 2nd for boys. 14 swimmers have achieved GISA state championship qualifying times. To date, 6 varsity team records have been set for the first time while 3 other varsity records have broken or re-set. 6 middle school/ JV records have also been reset this season.
6th Grade Boys Basketball Update
A short-handed NDA 6th Grade Boys Basketball Team lost 51-25 against Mt. Pisgah in their second league game of the season at Wesleyan school on Saturday, December 8. The result brings the team's record to 1-1 in league play and 3-1 overall. Without several players due to illness and other circumstances, the team fought hard and kept the game competitive in the 1st half before Mt. Pisgah pulled away in the 3rd quarter. The boys will be back in action this coming Saturday, December 15 at 11am against 6th Grade Wesleyan Wolves White in the Grace Gym at Wesleyan.
6th Grade Girls Basketball Update
The 6th grade girls battled through illness sweeping the team and played hard in their rematch with Buford. The girls improved against the full court zone press and got a lot of good shots at the basket. Unfortunately, the shots did not fall and the team fell 39-8.
NAML Girls Basketball Update
The NAML girls also battled illness and showed great toughness only playing with 5 girls. They fought hard against Eastside Christian but ultimately lost. They are improving with each game! Their season record is 2-3.
NAML Boys Basketball Update
The NAML boys showed resiliency with a valiant comeback effort against the 1st place Eastside Christian boys on Wednesday night but fell by 6 points. The boys are currently in 2nd place in the NAML league standings and sitting at 4-2 on the year.
Varsity Girls Basketball Update
The varsity girls basketball team fell to The Heritage School on Tuesday night but are back in action again on Thursday night at Dominion Christian for another region game. They hopefully will return to their winning ways. The girls season record is currently 3-4 on the year.
Varsity Boys Basketball Update
The varsity boys basketball team lost to a loaded Heritage team on Tuesday night. This brings their season record to 4-4 with 2 more games this week. They play Thursday at Dominion Christian, as well as on Saturday in the Gwinnett Daily Post event, The Metro Atlanta Challenge at 12:30pm at Grayson High School.
Have a very Merry Christmas and Go Irish!
