Spring Sports and Save the Date!

Spring Sports are (almost) over!

We have the following updates:

1. Varsity Track and Field recently went to the GISA State Track Meet in Albany, GA and had a few athletes place in the top 8 of state!

  • Joey Pizzarelli - 4th Place in 300M Hurdes
  • Brill Colletta - 7th Place in Discus
  • Ana Caballero - 5th Place in Discus

Our MS Teams did really well in their North Atlanta Metro League (NAML) meet! The Boys won the NAML meet and the girls finished 2nd!

2. Varsity Girls Soccer clinched 2nd in their region and hosted a home playoff game last Monday! Great season girls!

3. Our Lacrosse team defeated Buford in the 1st round of the playoffs and play this weekend in the next round of the playoffs! Luck of the Irish to you!

4. Varsity Baseball had their best season in school history winning the most games in school history.

5. MS Baseball was playing their best baseball towards the end of the year and played very well in their last game!

6. JV Boys Soccer competed against both varsity and JV teams all season and we are excited to offer both varsity and MS boys soccer next year!

7. Golf was a blast this year! Besides playing at TPC Sugarloaf (Best course in the area!), our golfers had fun and got better!

8. Last but not least: TENNIS is DOMINANT! We had some of the youngest players in each classification but they played well. We did not have any upperclass students on the varsity team but they won more matches than they lost. Our MS team competed hard and almost won the whole NAML championship! They fell just short.

Athletic Update - Spring Sports are going WELL!

1. Congrats to our middle school track and field teams on their terrific showing at the NAML conference track meet! Our boys came home as CHAMPIONS winning the meet and our girls came in a close second, as runner ups. Several of our athletes finished in the top 3 of their events!

2. Our Girls Varsity Soccer team clinched the second place in their region and will host a state playoff game on Monday afternoon at 3:30pm! Come out and support our girls soccer team in their best varsity season in school history! Since this is a state playoff game there will be an admissions fee. Adults are $8 and students are $6. First 50 Notre Dame Academy students are admitted free!

3. Pray for our Girls and Boys Varsity track and field teams as they head to Albany, GA today thru Saturday competing in the GISA State Track meet!

4. Mark your calendars for the following two events:

Winter/Spring Banquet: 5/21 at 6:30pm for all middle school and upper school winter and spring athletes!

Fall Golf Tournament benefitting Notre Dame Athletics will be held at TPC Sugarloaf on Monday, September 23rd with a shotgun start at 10am! Details will be forthcoming!

Save the Date: May 21st - Winter and Spring Sports Banquet

We want to see you at the Winter and Spring Sports Banquet on May 21st at 6:30pm. The banquet will take place in the George Student Center and will last until 8pm! If you played a middle or upper school sport in the Spring or Winter, you are encouraged to attend to celebrate these last two seasons!

Update on Spring Sports!

We are excited to offer the following sports this spring: Varsity Girls Soccer, JV Boys Soccer, Varsity Baseball, MS Baseball, Varsity Track, MS Track, MS Lacrosse, Varsity Golf, Varsity Girls Tennis, Varsity Boys Tennis, MS Boys Tennis, and MS Girls Tennis!

A few exciting happenings from the beginning of the Spring Season:

1. Varsity Baseball won their first varsity game in program history by beating Mill Springs 13-3. They followed up that win with the first region win in school history over Cristo Rey and they currently sit atop the region!

2. Varsity Girls Tennis defeated Creekside Christian to win their first region match of the year!

3. MS Boys Lacrosse won their jamboree to begin the season by defeating Duluth 10-5!

4. Both track teams are taking on a very competitive schedule by competing in meets at Lambert HS, Holy Innocents, among other places!

5. Boys Soccer hung tough against a full-fledged varsity team, keeping the score close at half. They eventually lost but competed for a full game against a varsity team.

6. With golf at TPC Sugarloaf, tennis at Atlanta Athletic Club, and our soccer teams playing at home on our brand new turf field, we boast the best home venues in all of Atlanta!

Introducing CMSA!

We are excited to offer Catholic Metro Soccer League teams this spring! We will offer 3rd - 5th grade boys/girls soccer. Registration will begin in January and more details will be forthcoming. Please be on the lookout when we return from Christmas Break for registration information on CMSA Soccer!

GISA Eligibility Reminder

All GISA (8th - 12th) student-athletes should have a physical form and authorized consent forms on file with PlanetHS. Please see Coach Clements with any questions. Also, remember that all student-athletes must have passing grades to remain eligible to participate in athletics at Notre Dame Academy! If you have questions regarding your eligibility, please see Coach Campbell.

Irish Swimming Update

Congratulations to our swimmers who continue to find success in the pool! In their last meet, the team placed in the top 4 for varsity and the middle school placed 4th for girls and 2nd for boys. 14 swimmers have achieved GISA state championship qualifying times. To date, 6 varsity team records have been set for the first time while 3 other varsity records have broken or re-set. 6 middle school/ JV records have also been reset this season.

6th Grade Boys Basketball Update

A short-handed NDA 6th Grade Boys Basketball Team lost 51-25 against Mt. Pisgah in their second league game of the season at Wesleyan school on Saturday, December 8. The result brings the team's record to 1-1 in league play and 3-1 overall. Without several players due to illness and other circumstances, the team fought hard and kept the game competitive in the 1st half before Mt. Pisgah pulled away in the 3rd quarter. The boys will be back in action this coming Saturday, December 15 at 11am against 6th Grade Wesleyan Wolves White in the Grace Gym at Wesleyan.

6th Grade Girls Basketball Update

The 6th grade girls battled through illness sweeping the team and played hard in their rematch with Buford. The girls improved against the full court zone press and got a lot of good shots at the basket. Unfortunately, the shots did not fall and the team fell 39-8.

NAML Girls Basketball Update

The NAML girls also battled illness and showed great toughness only playing with 5 girls. They fought hard against Eastside Christian but ultimately lost. They are improving with each game! Their season record is 2-3.

NAML Boys Basketball Update

The NAML boys showed resiliency with a valiant comeback effort against the 1st place Eastside Christian boys on Wednesday night but fell by 6 points. The boys are currently in 2nd place in the NAML league standings and sitting at 4-2 on the year.

Varsity Girls Basketball Update

The varsity girls basketball team fell to The Heritage School on Tuesday night but are back in action again on Thursday night at Dominion Christian for another region game. They hopefully will return to their winning ways. The girls season record is currently 3-4 on the year.

Varsity Boys Basketball Update

The varsity boys basketball team lost to a loaded Heritage team on Tuesday night. This brings their season record to 4-4 with 2 more games this week. They play Thursday at Dominion Christian, as well as on Saturday in the Gwinnett Daily Post event, The Metro Atlanta Challenge at 12:30pm at Grayson High School.

Weekly Athletic Update: December 6th

Fall Sports Banquet: Sunday, December 16th at 5pm

All middle school and upper school student athletes who participated in a fall sport (cross country, volleyball, or football) are invited to join us in the George Student Center for the Fall Sports Banquet. This event will be business casual attire and will include recognition of exemplary student-athletes, dinner, and an overall fun evening. Please RSVP to your coach as soon as possible.

6th Grade Girls Team Update

The girls' 6th grade team played a hotly contested game versus Wesleyan this past Saturday. The game was back-and-forth throughout with both teams holding leads at various times. The girls battled but came up short in a 22-16 defeat.

6th Grade Boys Team Update

The NDA 6th Grade Boys Basketball Team prevailed 19-18 against the 6th Grade Wesleyan Wolves Green in their first league game of the season at Wesleyan school on Saturday. The team fought hard and was able to squeak out the victory against a disciplined Wolves team due to grit and determination. The boys will be back in action this coming Saturday at 10am at Wesleyan.

NAML Girls Update

The NAML 7th/8th grade girls played a hard fought game against Eastside Christian. The game was tied after the first quarter and the girls were down by 3 at the half. Unfortunately, despite the girl's best effort, they eventually fell 30-17. On Monday, the girls rebounded with a BIG WIN over Duluth Adventist school. Great job girls!

Varsity Girls Update

The girls varsity basketball team has played 4 games on the year, with their record sitting at 2-2. They last played Monsignor Donovan and led the entire game, besting MD by more than 20 points. They were led by a great offensive effort by three girls: Sydney Whalen, Riley Fleck, and Josie Fleck. The girls play their first region game of the year on Friday, December 7th at 5pm against the Atlanta Girls School, in The George!

Varsity Boys Update

The boys varsity basketball team has played 5 games on the year and are currently 3-2. The last played at Fulton Science Academy and won by over 30 points! They had a very balanced scoring attack, with everyone on the roster playing in the game. They travel to St. Simons Island this weekend to play in a 2 game tournament at Frederica Academy! Good luck guys!

Swim Team Update

The swim team took to the pool on Tuesday, December 4th at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center and competed against many other schools. Almost all of our swimmers set new personal bests and the team as a whole, finished in the Top 3 for the meet! Great job team!

First Home Varsity Basketball Games

Friday, November 30th is our first home varsity basketball games! Come out and cheer on the girls and boys as they take on GHSA school, The Paideia School. Girls tip off at 6pm and the boys tip off at 7:30pm!

Senior Night!

Let's have a great crowd on Friday night to honor our football and athletic training seniors! The awards ceremony will take place in between the girls and boys game. Be sure to show up and support these fantastic student-athletes!

Middle School Boys Basketball - Both 6th and NAML teams are undefeated!

Congrats on a great start to the season for our boys basketball 6th and NAML teams! They are both 2-0 on the year! The 6th grade team has won both of their games to start their league and the NAML team has defeated both Cornerstone Christian and Lyndon Academy in overtime! Both exciting games! Great job boys!

Varsity Basketball Result from Tuesday

Both varsity basketball teams began their season on Tuesday at Lyndon Academy! The girls were defeated in a close game, that was hard fought. The boys started their game scoring 30 points in the first quarter and rolled to a large victory, scoring over 70 points. Both teams are in action on Thursday, November 29th at Brandon Hall!

Swimming off to a record start!

Our swimming team participated in a swim meet on Friday, November 16th in Madison, Georgia! Many of our swimmers were able to break their own personal records. While the official meet results were not available immediately following the race, the general feeling from Coach Jenny was that our swim team was the top performing team in the meet! Great job to all swimmers!

Spring Sport Sign Ups

Coach Campbell will be in the middle school and upper school lunches with interest sheets for spring sports! We have quite a few offerings for spring sports this year, so make sure to find him and place your name on one of the lists! This years spring offerings: Tennis, Track, Lacrosse, Soccer, Baseball, and Golf.

Weekly Athletic Update: November 15, 2018

Senior Night!

Come out to our first varsity basketball home games on Friday, November 30th to support our football and athletic training seniors, as we recognize their commitment and legacy to their respective sports! They will be recognized in between the girls and boys varsity games against The Paideia School! We are excited to see you all there supporting our basketball teams and our seniors!

Fall Athletic Banquet

We will be hosting our Fall Athletic Banquet on Sunday, December 16th at 5pm in The George Student Center cafeteria! This banquet is for all 6th - 12th participants in football, volleyball, athletic training, and cross country! All student-athletes eat free and families will be billed a $12 fee to their Smart Tuition account. We look forward to having a great showing at our Fall Athletic Banquet and honoring our student-athletes!

First Swimming Meet Tomorrow!

Tomorrow marks the official beginning our swimming season! Good luck to Coach Jenny, Coach Lee, Coach Link, Coach Wilson and all of our swimmers as they try to lap the competition!
